In obedience to the decrees of Urban VIII of March 3, 1625 and June 16, 1631 and to other similar pontifical legislation, the publishers declare that what is written here does not attempt to anticipate in any way the decisions of the supreme ecclesiastical authority of the Roman Catholic Church on this matter.
What is printed here is mainly historical: the actual facts that occurred and the testimony of the witnesses who observed those facts. The opinions given by the author are not meant in anyway to presuppose the final judgment of the supreme ecclesiastical hierarchy, which at the time of this publication had made no definite stand either for or against the authenticity of the events here described.

Publication of this book is due lo the assistence of many people. All contributions cannot be remembered here, but all of them, even if only a cup of cold water, will be remembered in heaven.
In the United States, Joey Lomangino and his New York Garabandal Center aided by introducing the publishers to the necessary people. Bill Henry and his wife at the Center were of immeasurable assistance when first undertaking the investigation of the events. Frank Dolan and Luke Salimento with his Marian Devotions aided in European travels. Harry Daly gave magnificent assistance in television and motion picture production. Dr. Jeronimo Dominquez played an important part in originating related movies and television programs. Mary Lackie and the Northwest Garabandal Center provided indispensible photographs.
In Europe, Serafin Gonzales was most gracious in his hospitality and assistance. Ferdinand Corteville provided much useful information, photographs, and travel guidance. Walter Kushion and Gerald Ryan arranged foreign travel and were extremely helpful in dealing with the people of Garabandal. The translation was made possible by the contributions of the multi-lingual Gerard Suel, who also made the original French translation. Fr. José Ramon de la Riva was responsible for many of the photographs seen throughout the book. Fr. Jehan de Bailliencourt published the French translation of this book. Fr. Eusebio gave encouragement to go on when things become difficult.
Gratitude is also expressed to the visionaries for the time they spent with us, and especially to Conchita, without whose help the book would never have been started.

The pictures placed at the start of each chapter were made from official newsfilm of the ecstasies taken by the Spanish government agency NO-DO.
As there were over 2,000 ecstasies and thousands of pictures taken, it was not possible to accurately correlate the pictures with the events described. Typical illustrations were used in what appeared to be appropriate places.
St. Joseph Publications needs additional photographs of the ecstasies for subsequent editions of this book. Anyone who can help the publishers by supplying these pictures would be doing a service for the apparitions.
