Our
pilgrimage started off in Toronto, Canada on April 4, 2001. Our group
of 25 pilgrims flew via Lufthansa Airlines to Frankfurt, Germany
where we changed planes and met Peggy D. from California and Fr.
Miroslav's mother who travelled from Slovakia to join the group. They
continued to Bilbao, Spain. From Bilbao, a bus took the group the rest
of the journey to Garabandal.
But first,
on the Saturday afternoon, the bus made a stop in Limpias, Spain where we
visited the church in which the life-size crucifix of Jesus came alive
in the early 1900's. We were most fortunate to have Fr. Miroslav Cajka from Toronto
as our spiritual director with us and we started with a Holy Mass in this
special church. What a way to begin a pilgrimage!
